In the case of a unilateral contract, the reward forms the offer, which is accepted by any member of the public, either by word or by action. For instance, if A were to reward the finder of his dog with $500, any person who brings the said dog to A gets his $500. There is a valid offer, which is accepted (finding the lost dog), and the contract is sealed. However, in this case, it is just an inducement to boost sales and not really intended to be an offer to swap a $23 million jet for $700,000 worth of PepsiCo Points.
