How does Spinoza handle the mind & body problem?

Following in the footsteps of his God/nature theory, Spinoza explains that a human being’s existence presents one with two attributes – of thought and of extension – in other words, mind, and body, which actually are one and the same. The concept of them being different and interacting with one another is a confusion that a person suffers due to thinking of themselves at times under the attribute of thought – and sometimes under the attribute of extension. Another way to put it is to say that the mind is the body’s idea.
