Ghettos are one of the most challenging socio-economic issues in many countries. These are remote locations where society’s marginalized and minorities live. Insufficient housing, overpopulation, and abject poverty are all factors that contribute to the ghetto formation.
The poor are unable to acquire better living conditions due to the lack of employment and funds and hence wind up in ghettos. Another factor that contributes to ghetto creation is poor governance. States often remain oblivious and unbothered by the need to consider the concerns of economically disadvantaged people in urban planning, allowing slums to expand.
