The program would allow me to experience a wide range of roles, including clinical, executive, and educational nursing. My main interest, however, remains healthcare administration as I would like to advance as a professional in terms of leadership and management skills that are integral to improving patient care outcomes. I could become a scholar and conduct original research, but I am more interested in assuming an executive administrative role.
A DNP degree would be extremely helpful in providing me, as an aspiring nursing executive, with the necessary knowledge on clinical practice, research application, and integration. I would use tools and concepts learned to implement evidence into practice, assess scientific and electronic data, and evaluate implementation using specific metrics that I hope to get a better understanding of during the program.
I want to integrate my knowledge to become a chief nursing officer (CNO) in thefuture. I believe that a DNP degree could help me reach a high level of academic preparation while gaining necessary practical experience, both of which I would be able to use to enhance my clinical practice and administrative operations of the hospital Icould hopefully call my place of work. I would like to become a nurse manager to gain more practical experience and then move to the chief nurse practitioner.
I believe that I could reach my full potential by gaining more responsibilities in the role of achief nursing officer. I consider a DNP program to be integral to my growth as a professional and acquiring crucial knowledge to implement hospital quality improvement initiatives and potentially make a big impact on healthcare administration systems as Ibecome a CNO or assume a dual role of a CNO and a community health director.
