Ethics is the way of acting that correlates with God’s intentions and is beneficial both for the individual and other people. My ethic is based on Christian scriptures, scientific knowledge, and my own experience of God’s understanding. The basis of Christian ethics is the Ten Commandments from the Holy Bible. I believe that everybody can, and should, interpret this sacred book by themselves, but it is their own responsibility for any mistakes. They should learn from those mistakes, cleansing their souls and bringing themselves closer to God. In addition, everyone can feelGod directly, having God’s spirit in them, and in that way understand what to do and what not to do. When this ability is blocked, people can lose the connection with God’s spirit and the ability to distinguish the good and evil.
As humans are conscious beings, having the spark of God, they are alone responsible for their choices. All choices and deeds have consequences; evil deeds have harmful consequences, and good deeds have good ones. Sometimes, an evil deed can help get more profit, material or emotional, but it is always at the expense of someone else. Thus, violence and destruction always lead to the defeat of both who did a bad deal and its victim. Models developed by psychology and sociology are helpful to understand, on a basic level, what is better to do. Especially useful and good is the “win-win” model, which shows how one can benefit oneself and others.
In that way, humans are designed to judge on their own what is right and what is wrong: we have both religious revelations and scientific models for that purpose. The Holy Bible (NIV) says that “Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being”. It means that humans are full of God’s spirit, and we can understand what correlates with His intentions and what does not. Culture and popular opinion are the product of human consciousness and can impose ethical views. They are valuable tools for that, despite sometimes they also can impose wrong ideals, leading to human degradation rather than development.
