William Blake was not only a brilliant poet but also an outstanding artist. He is the author of various cycles of poems and a person who has made a specific contribution to the development of Romanticism in literature. One of his cycles of poems, united by a system of end-to-end images and symbols, poems of light and joy, imbued with the ideas of Christianity, demonstrates the author’s attitude to life on earth and after death. During the French Revolution, Blake did not want to support any philosophical, aesthetic, or social aspirations. The poet created his mythology, which revealed the human soul and clothed it in a physical shell. In addition, the myths contain symbolism hidden by the author and the harsh reality of human existence.
