How did Industrialization shape the middle class and its values?

Industrialization in the United States brought about a great deal of change in the social and economic landscape. The rise of factories and mass production led to an increase in the number of working-class Americans. Moreover, the growth of the railroad system allowed people to move around more freely and gave rise to new opportunities for employment. The middle class began to emerge as a result of these changes, as more and more people were able to find stable jobs with decent wages. The middle-class values of hard work and self-reliance soon became entrenched in American society and continue to be highly prized today.
