I used to wonder why I should study philosophy and how it could help me. Now, I realize that philosophical thinking structures thoughts and teaches us how to analyze vast amounts of texts and the information that comes to us. I thought that philosophers were these sullen, sad, staggering-looking uncles. Now I understand that people who study philosophy have a great deal of verbal and intellectual baggage, and they are exciting to talk to and listen to.
I think philosophical thinking is at the core of becoming a decent and wise person. It enables me to think critically, expanding my capacity to explore space. It seems that philosophy will allow me to act based on facts and identify the root causes of my behavior. Philosophical thinking helps me recognize nature’s mechanisms in this way and respond to social issues. In addition, it can be used to achieve harmony with the inner world, which is very important for the formation of personality.
