DNA is a nucleic acid that contains the genotype of an individual and transmits information by inheritance through self-reproducing. RNA is a ribonucleic acid with monomers called nucleotides. There are some similarities and differences in the structure and functions of DNA and RNA. The main difference is that the helix of this molecule is single, in contrast to the double helix in DNA. The first similarity is that DNA and RNA are information carriers. The second one refers to the compilation due to the principle of complementarity. The last similarity is associated with the presence of both guanine and cytosine in DNA and RNA.
