Home schooling by myself

I want to school myself at home.
My parents are against this, and they say that because I failed my last test at school, I can’t do that.
They say that if I don’t spend enough time studying, I’ll be grounded without my phone.
And my school is also far from home, it’s a private school, so I spend lots of time getting there.
So I think I’d be better off home schooling myself.
How do I convince my parents?

  1. You need to be really bright and clever to be able to home school yourself w/o any assistance.
Sorry, but if you fail your tests on a regular basis, that may be not a good option for you.

  2. You’re definitely very stressed out.
Maybe the cause is in your school, maybe it’s down to not getting enough attention from your parents.
In any case, you should discuss with them what exactly makes you unconfortable at your school, not just repeatedly shouting that you want to be home schooled.

  3. Don’t you think it’s quite arrogant of you to say that you can home school yourself if you fail your tests, not for the first time?

  4. home schooling yourself is for exceptionally bright kids.
In most cases, it will only mean that your parents will teach you all the disciplines, they will know exactly what you’re doing and when are you trying to slack off, and of course, unlike the teachers in schools, they’ll have all their attention on you.

  5. Let me get this straight – you failed your test but you’re sure that you can educate yourself up to standard?
It’s all very childish of you. If you study at home, your parents will have to control the process.
They are probably busy people, think about how much time it would take away from them. And if they don’t control the process, the odds are that you’ll fail your final exams, won’t be enrolled to college or be able to get any decent job.
Just put things into perspective and you’ll understand that your idea is childish.

  6. If you’re home schooled it’s ILLEGAL for your parents not to supervise you. There are and there will be some rules you have to obey. If everyone could teach themselves, why would we need any schools, colleges, or any educational establishments at all?

  7. private schools can be problematic, try to find a compromise with your parents, because you clearly can’t tutor yourself and your home schooling will take a lot of their time.
