Opera music is a theoretical work where music is staged with costumes and movement consisting of dramatic text. Opera style mostly demonstrates historical events as well as praises popular legends.
This form of art is very common in Western countries but also found in other parts of the world, such as China, where they use it widely to represent their culture. I have not listened to Opera before; thus, listening to this type of music has been intriguing. Castrato is a male soprano voice with a great range of flexibility and power.
In Western opera music, there is an orchestra accompanying the singers. There are elaborate costumes and scenery that include traditional dance. In the mid sixteen century, castrated men appeared as sopranos in church. Young boys singers were castrated at the puberty stage in the name of being a voice that kept a high range and adult range.
Traditional Indian music was almost in darkness in the times of the British colonies compared to operatic music. The Indian aristocrats stopped supporting their music, allowing the British, who showed very little interest in other cultures, to manipulate them. During this time, European music got a chance to prevail in India.
The influence is still effective today as the West made a second invasion by spreading their music worldwide. India’s film industry is the largest worldwide, producing thousands of music. The influence of Western music has affected film music, and then there is bluegrass and Hollywood style in hand with a blend of local films.
To sum up, Western music culture greatly affects music in other countries, especially India, where the leaders did not support and protect their traditional music. The opera music style was largely spread in India and affected Indian traditional music.
