I want to give up homeschooling, please, help!!

I was homeschooled in middle school, then I went to a public school for my 9th grade. But my parents said they didn’t like it and it wasn’ good for me, so I’m homeschooling again. They promised that I will go to a private school, but they only promise, they don’t make plans, don’t do anything.
I don’t want to homeschool!
I don’t like it!
I liked it in the public school!
I want to give up homeschooling.
Can I do it? I’m 16, can I make decisions legally? Thank you so much!!

  1. Your parents make the decision here, unfortunately. That is, unless they don’t educate you at all. Also, you know, private schools are not cheap, and many would consider them to be a waste of money.
You parents probably can’t afford it, although I don’t understand why they are OK with lying to you.
Perhaps you should ask what is it about public school that are so opposed to? Try talking to them and explaining your opinion.
    Perhaps they’ll listen.

  2. I think you can have a say in the matters of education in some countries, but not in the US.
You can get emancipated here, but it’s not easy. So, yeah, try talking to the parents. That’s the only thing yu can do actually.
Or go to the court and work to emancipate yourself.

  3. You can get emancipated, but mind that it means being independent in every way (financially as well). The legislation is different in different states, but you can contact the school (or some other school) and explain the issue.
They will provide the necessary information and probably offer you some good advice for a less radical decision.

  4. If you live in the US, I’m afraid, you can’t do much. Your parents are responsible for you and you are supposed to do as they say. Sorry.
