Humanism is a revolutionary approach to life that acknowledges our capability and obligation to live to uphold the values of self-gratification that strive for betterment despite theology or other superstitious beliefs. In contrast to Christian teachings, humanism was a social revolution that emphasized human traits such as reason and believed that the world had value and meaning.

Since he publicized the old earth and creative writing findings, Petrarch is known as the “Father of Humanism.” He rediscovered several writings in the monastery, and he owned Greek literature duplicated into Roman script, intending how they should be viewed as well as understood faster.

Petrarch argued that studying literature might improve a person’s moral and intellectual abilities, and this belief remained conventional among humanists. He urged his readers to be more interested in nature and build a new taste that did not consider the earth a “valley of tears” but as lovely that could aid spiritual growth. His renowned ‘Letter on the ‘Ascent of Mont Ventoux,’ which claimed that delight in nature might be ethically and spiritually uplifting, is considered a landmark.

Petrarch was a pioneer in the movement of global re-discovery following the Middle Ages and the humanists’ concern for the world to come (Cole and Carol 340). This eventually led to a rational investigation of the world, which had far-reaching implications in domains as broad as biology, diplomacy, and ideology.

Furthermore, the poet expressed an interest in a human’s inner experience, implying that everyone has a rich internal world, a significant element of humanism. He believed in the person’s importance, which was revolutionary at the time. On the other hand, Petrarch was torn between his religious convictions and his admiration for the pagan classical culture.

He eventually reconciled the issue by claiming that the antique and paganism worlds may aid a person’s moral development and salvation. This went a long way toward ensuring that humanism and its appreciation of the historic style were acceptable in a fiercely Christian Italy and Europe.
