Social learning theory could be described as an extension of behaviorism and was first described by Albert Bandura. The theory puts an emphasis on the social nature of humans, and the influence one may have on the other. According to this theory, since people are social creatures, they may learn through watching others even when they do not explicitly receive any positive reinforcement.

For instance, when children encounter domestic violence, they might be affected by it in a variety of ways. In a hypothetical situation where the father of three boys assaults the mother, different lessons might be acquired by each. One kid may admire him, the other tries to defend the abused, and the third might hide during the fights.
