Generally, the three leadership models are all important and significantly contribute to the realization of organizational goals. However, each leadership style is limited to different applications in that it may best suit one situation than the other.
According to Cater, the laissez-faire leadership approach is the most effective model among the three. First, this leadership model has little or no close supervision of the employees, which gives room for team building and motivation. Motivated team members always remain focused on the objectives and achieve much more for the organization.
Also, the contribution of each member is highly regarded, which contributes to the final decision-making. Given that the team members have the right skill sets and understand their tasks well, the Laissez-Faire leadership model is effective.
On the other hand, the autocratic leadership model is the least effective among the three. The model is centered on an individual responsible for making all decisions for the entire team. The disengagement of other team members kills the motivation to work and the spirit of unity.
