Education and work
Dad threw me out, what do I do?
I am a freshman girl aged 18.
I’ve been working at Burger King
throughout my first semester, but it
was horrible, so I quitted and started
working at a library.
I did not tell my dad
openly that I changed my job. Today,
I arrived home for a winter break.
At 2 a.m., dad came into my room
and said he knew that I stopped
working at Burger King and that I
should go sleep somewhere else.
I am so damaged, he really told be to get out!
It doesn’t matter that I’m a college student!
I study full time, but he acted like I as doing
nothing at all! I’m so upset, what to do?

Have you told him about working in the library?

Since you’re already an adult, your father doesn’t have to provide you with housing without any regard to your status as a college student.
The best way to solve this is to talk to him. -
Have you told him about working at the library?
Where did you go?
If I were you, I’d not go anywhere until I find myself a new place. -
It is never good to be dishonest with your parents.
Maybe you can speak to your dad about this whole thing and offer some housework or rent as compensation for your stay. -
I do not understand your motive. This makes very little sense.

I see no point in this story. How did he react at the fact that you’re working in the library?
