The future development of Starbucks is significantly conditional upon the emerging circumstances of the essential markets. The special attention the managers paid to this aspect of the matter is demonstrated by the number of measures intended to eliminate the risks deriving from the current crisis. Alongside opening new stores in the home market mentioned above, they include upgrading the chain’s ordering platforms and artificial intelligence technology over time, following the principal shifts in the field. Moreover, the company aims to ensure the recovery of the business through the closure of less profitable stores in favor of the new shops in busier areas, which do not require a long-term stay. From this point of view, it is reasonable to assume the focus of Starbucks is on improving the situation in the United States instead of opening new spots worldwide, at least until the state of the industry improves.
