I believe that historical inner-city riots are relevant to present urban and racial issues because the affected persons use the same methods of their regulation. Besides, their mindsets regarding the existence of inequality have not changed, and combining efforts in overcoming obstacles to the wellbeing of the black population still seems an appropriate solution for the participants of these events. For example, the comparison of the cases of Newark riots and Black Lives Matter shows that both occasions were guided by improper actions of police toward African American citizens.
Moreover, they both led to violence from other representatives of this population group and numerous victims. Even though the present-day movements are different in their open appeal to equality contrasted by silenced claims of the past, the latter is relevant to these situations around the country.
