King envisioned a Union where racism did not exist, saying “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” King’s speech became the rallying call for the enforcement of civil rights within the United States, and the ideas he detailed are held in high regard by civil rights activists and organizations to date. The tenets of equality among the different races are pursued to this day, especially as the racial divide is yet to be eradicated. The message in the 60s was based on a theme of peace and coexistence, which is quintessential even across different generations.
