Distinguish between the five principles of enlightened marketing: consumer-oriented marketing, innovative marketing, value marketing, sense-of-mission marketing, and societal marketing.

Customer-oriented marketing refers to the way in which the suppliers provide the products to the consumer where the consumer is the control agent in that the suppliers have not to know the tastes of these consumers and their preferences before supplying any product in the market so that they are sure of making high sales and also be profitable in their production.

Value marketing is the relationship between the consumer’s expectations of the product quality to the actual amount paid for it. In marketing, this value can be defined by the qualitative measures, which are the perceived gain that is from the individual’s emotional, mental, and physical condition and also including the social, economic, and cultural, and environmental factors. The quantitative measures are the actual gain that is measured in terms of the financial numbers, percentages, and dollars.

The sense-of-mission marketing refers to the promotion of the social idea that helps in the mending of the image and the gaining of trust from the consumers. This marketing promotes the business philosophy and the mission of the organization, increasing the sales of that particular organization.

Societal marketing is a concept that embodies a high and more enlightened plane of marketing and the practices that are carried in the market. It emphasizes social responsibility and has the suggestion that a company’s focus on the relationship with the consumers might not be so as to sustain long-term success, but a company ensures that a consumer gets the products that are for the satisfaction of the basic needs. A company should be socially responsible so that it can be able to improve its image among the consumers. This will help such a company to improve on its sales as the consumers will be willing to purchase from that company and also the stakeholders and the financial community.

Innovative marketing is whereby the consumer is able to get the products from the market through the innovation or the measures that are applied by the company so that they ensure that the product is readily available for the satisfaction of the basic needs of the consumer through following of the strategies like the market niche which is the areas that the consumers do not need to have completely filled and thus the company is able to provide the products to these consumers. In this market niche, there are opportunities like the value-added process which involves the creation of a new product which have their uses in the market.
