Generally, the company only uses a dissimilar way of advertising hence the charges. This might be because AIDWA feels the company is gaining an unfair competitive advantage over other cosmetic or cream companies in the country. Moreover, the charges have been confirmed by relevant legal authorities and considered exploitation of values and norms of the Indian society. However, the company defends its strategy and, furthermore, includes women from the village with unfair skin in their marketing program known as Shakti Ammas. Though this may prove that the company is not discriminative, it might not effectively counter the charges because the adverts’ contents exploit norms and values of the Indian community.
