Discuss two examples of Chicano/Latino activism from the 80s and 90s.

The first example of Chicano/Latino activism is the strike in Watsonville, California when 1700 cannery workers—primarily Mexican women—went on a protest in 1985 and secured a union agreement including health benefits.

In 1990, San Antonio-based Levi Strauss employees who had been let off due to the firm’s relocation to Costa Rica launched a protest and hunger strikes, which helped them win settlements.
