The human brain plays an essential role in the acquisition of language skills by a child. The development of functions associated with abstract and critical thinking, as well as the acquisition of the ability to mimic the people around a child, allows the latter to train the skills needed to use language effectively. For instance, with the development of the creative and critical thinking faculties, a child’s brain becomes capable of a complex analysis of the words’ meanings, which allows a child to link words in phrases and sentences: “Language grows tremendously once the child begins to combine words.”
