Organizations have a complex way of monitoring misuse of computer use policies by their employees. This misuse ranges from accessing explicit web pages and even sending pornographic emails. Major organizations use electronic monitoring of communication and performances of employees through the computers. This system reviews emails, voice mail messages telephone conversations, and this system operates as a very effective tool for measuring employee productivity.

Other companies only get too involved in accessing employees’ emails once they have been appraised of violation of organizational computer policy.

Routine monitoring of computer usage by organizations targets those employees who fail to meet work deadlines and given those whose explicit browsing habits could potentially expose the organization to top sexual harassment problems. The use of surveillance software gives more results. Telemate.Net is a surveillance software dealer whose facilities are very effective in monitoring employees’ compliance and can detect abuse of Internet services.

Organizations penalize employees who misuse the computer policy by firing them from the organization. The U.S based Xerox company terminated 40 employees from the company on the grounds of misuse of company computer usage policies. Most of them were accused of accessing pornography and gambling sites.
