Discuss the differences between Romanesque and Gothic architecture.

Gothic architecture originated from Romanesque, developed in its own way in the attempt to make the churches brighter and connect them to heaven. Roman architecture is marked by spacious rooms, round forms, and small windows, making all interiors look darker even on sunny days. Round Roman arches built together to form a barrel vault. Spiky arches of Gothic buildings point to the sky, and large windows make all rooms in churches bright and airy.
