Plato was the first to introduce metaphysical dualism: from his point of view, the world can be divided into two (duo) parts – the world of constancy and the world of constant change. The world of change is the physical world as we perceive it with our senses (material). We cannot attain true knowledge in this world because it is constantly changing. On the other hand, the world of non-physical reality is permanent and unchangeable. Such structure underlies the idea of ‘definition’ addressed in the Euthyphro through concepts or entities. If they are not identical, in Euthyphro, they either do not match or partially coincide, or one absorbs the other.
