Determining students’ comprehension of the written material is crucial to reaching the expected learning outcomes. Learners have to understand the instructions provided to them and the text that is included in their assignments. However, checking their understanding of the reading material may be tricky. To check whether every learner has a clear understanding of the text that they have read, a teacher will need to use basic questions, asking learners for both the general context and specific details of the text. In addition, a teacher may want to make students use the information in the text to draw specific conclusions about a certain issue. Thus, an educator will have an idea of how well the learners have perceived the information.
