My research interest is in safety in airline and hangar maintenance. This field is directly connected to commercial aviation accident trends and, thus, commercial airport security. As Price & Forrest state, although being a lesser risk area, corporate flight hangar and their maintenance should still be taken into account. For instance, the restricted access of unauthorized people to this area should be controlled as it is a crucial aircraft facility.
As ASC should analyze any person applying unescorted access to such sites, it is an overlapping field of my research and commercial airport security. Moreover, according to Wright, some planes can stay in the hangar for up to six weeks, waiting for a check. Thus, it is of utmost importance that safety is ensured in order to avoid any accidents because of technical reasons.
