Define and describe divine command theory.

The Divine Command Theory holds that ethics is dependent on God and that ethical duty is fulfilled by submitting to God’s directives. It is also the belief that ethics particularly depends upon God’s demands or appeals. Thus, the ethically good conduct mandated by God is recognized as the Divine Command model. The actual contents of the religious guidelines vary based on the faith and individuals’ godly command philosopher’s perspectives.

Still, according to Baron, all variations of the philosophy share the notion that morality and moral obligations are ultimately accountable to God. According to the idea, morality is decided by God’s instructions, and being ethical means obeying them. In classic and contemporary times, followers of monogamous and syncretic religions have repeatedly noted the significance of the Supernatural Being’s instructions in developing ethics.
