Digital marketing is essential in tracking the performance of campaigns and promotions, allowing management to make the right decisions on cost-effective ways to grow a business.
Content marketing
This strategy focuses on building valuable experiences by creating and distributing educational content in multiple formats to attract and retain consumers. Examples include blog posts, eBooks, videos, and podcasts. It is important because it responds to clients’ questions, builds trust, and generates leads as well as impressions.
Affiliate marketing
A commission-based arrangement where the merchant only pays marketers when they make the sale or get a lead. An example includes Amazon affiliate marketers who earn from sales commissions. It helps improve brand awareness and increase online sales, which guarantees business growth.
Customer relationship management (CRM)
Customer relationship management involves serving and nurturing customers into lifetime consumers by identifying their consumption habits and behaviors. An example is how Coca-Cola uses CRM to obtain information by monitoring consumers’ behaviors and social media to create relevant products and promotions. It helps maintain a close connection with customers, allowing a business to learn how they consume products and observe existing needs.
Influencers
This is a network made of social media users, journalists, Vloggers, YouTubers, and bloggers to promote a business. An example of influencers is Instagram models paid to market a product. Influencers enhance business adverts by creating native ads that relate to many consumers.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
This strategy involves two techniques, search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click, which ensure a company’s website is ranked high in search engines. SEM helps in generating traffic to a business website and improves brand awareness. All listings with the word “Ad” in figure 1 are examples of SEM.
