According to logical positivists, experiments and observations are necessary to confirm, analyze or verify every meaningful proposition. Consequently, logical positivists consider metaphysical theories to be meaningless. For example, they did not acknowledge the existence of the soul or mind because these issues cannot be observed or experimentally proved. As for natural language theorists, their major idea is that all problems of philosophy developed due to the incorrect use of language or its misunderstanding. Thus, misunderstandings and the resulting problems could have been avoided in case language was used more carefully.
