Different types of token economies

Reading Friend’s chapter of “Special Education: Contemporary Perspectives for School Professionals” devoted to social and emotional characteristics of students with disabilities, it becomes obvious that motivation used for ordinary students is not really effective.

Having read some data bout token economy, I came to the conclusion that his strategy may be used by children as in case of exchanging the particular number of tokens, such students learn to communicate, express their desire and lack of desire in the forms which are going to be helpful for them in the future. Moreover, students are motivated to complete the tasks better and faster, which is a good influence on the studying process. Moreover, the socialization of students with disabilities is a complicated process, and the token economy may help those flow into the stream of social life. I used the token economy during my childhood when I gathered the tokens for completing some homer tasks, and then I could exchange those for the sweets I wanted (my mother organized the quest).
