The statue named the Stele of Naram-Sin represents the victory of Naram-Sin over the mountain people. It can be described as one of the main characterizations of the imperial art of the Akkadian era. The statue symbolizes a mountain that is conquered by Naram-Sin’s people. As we can see, the whole statue does not look realistic, but it perfectly conveys the Akkadian spirit. All of the statue elements can be located at the bottom, but the sun is illustrated near the King’s head.

The Narmer Palette contains the first hieroglyphs and represents the unification of Lower and Upper Egypt. Both of its sides are covered with symbols and hieroglyphs. The Palette does not look realistic and should be perceived as a metaphor.

The Stela of Akhenaten and His Family seems to be the most detailed out of all three sculptures. The majority of the Stela is the depiction of the Akhenaten family. These three sculptures are similar because they show the kings as superior creatures that may possess certain powers (even supernatural).

The Stele of Naram-Sin is a direct reference to the King’s triumph, and the representation of the King is similar to the depiction of gods of that era. This sculpture can also be directly connected to the height of the Akkadian Empire at the time when the statue was created. The Narmer Palette represents the King and some minor figures. It is not yet possible to identify whether several real or mythic events were depicted on the Palette. Some researchers argue that the Narmer Palette may be a metaphorical display of the King defeating his enemies. Akhenaten and His Family is a typical sculpture of that particular time period. The King and his wife are portrayed as bigger than usual to underline their importance for society.
