Assessment of ICU Survivors’ Functional Status

Identify gender differences concerning the impact of change in cognitive function on functional status three months after receiving critical care.

To answer this question, investigate intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Assess their functional status and cognitive function using the validated Korean version of the Modified Barthel Index and Mini-Mental State Examination, respectively. Use hierarchical regression to evaluate the impact of change in cognitive function on functional status in ICU survivors by gender. Develop strategies addressing the gender-specific characteristics related to cognitive improvement.
