Kaylee Ayoub’s poem Where I’m From is about a child highlighting the residential environment and various activities taking place that makes the place unique. It takes place around the home of the persona, who uses a boastful tone. Further, the narrator speaks in the first person and has a clear voice from the beginning by saying, “I am from….”

The major aspect of the poem is repetition which emphasizes a strong identity of origin. However, the poem has overused the aforementioned word hence leading to monotony. To improve the poem, the author should replace “Am from” with other words such as home, cradle, and my origin.
