The appeal is made in the name of human welfare as it appears to suggest that a vegan diet is a key to staying healthy. The ad states that many people who eat a vegetarian diet lower the risk of developing cardiovascular-related problems hence suggesting that everyone should shift to this eating lifestyle to stay fit. Quoting that President Clinton has reduced 24 pounds as a result of a vegan diet is an indication that the ad advocates for healthy living for humans. On the contrary, the main objective of the ad is to show people that a vegetarian diet is healthy in order to protect animals.

By turning vegan, the demand for animals will reduce, leading to less slaughtering and animal cruelty. As PETA argues against animal cruelty, it tries to look for the advantages of shifting to a vegetarian diet and its health benefits. One concept promoted in the ad is weight loss which draws the attention of many Americans who are overweight or obese. However, it is not clear whether the president lost weight because of eating a vegetarian diet.
