a. Locate (I) books and (II) articles in the Deakin library. b. Locate high quality World Wide Web sites.

If you have frequented the library for quite some time and you are sure of your ability to locate these resources, proceed to the library and start your search. If you feel that you lack the appropriate skills to locate these resources in Deakin library, you should proceed to the help desk inside the library and ask any librarian to guide you on locating the specific information you are looking for. In the case of printed books and articles, you should use the library catalog, which can be accessed online through the computers placed at various points inside the library. Open the online library catalog and search the articles or books by title or author. For instance, if I want to search for the study book Good Study, I will open the search engine of this catalog and either type “Good Study” (title) or “Neil Burdess” (author). The results will show me the “CALL” number of that book or journal. They show the location of these resources on the shelf. This call number is found at the spine of the printed books and journals. Then proceed to the selves with the call numbers noted down to pick the resource with that CALL number since it is what you were looking for. For the electronic journal, there are those stored on the University Library website. In contrast, others are subscribed by the University but can only be accessed from external websites that require a user name and password to enter those websites. You should ask the librarian for a list of such websites with peer-reviewed journals, or you can go to the University’s library’s websites and click on the link “A-Z journals,” which will direct you to the electronic journals.
